Alligator Loki Gets His Own Comic Book After MCU Introduction

by nerdyminutes

Alligator Loki has snapped up a new gig, becoming the star of his own comic book after making an appearance in the MCU’s Loki series on Disney+ last year.

Asgard’s favorite reptile has made his Infinity Comic debut in the first of a new 12-issue Alligator Loki series, which is available exclusively on the Marvel Unlimited app. The comic is written by Alyssa Wong, with art by Robert Quinn and colors by Pete Pantazis. The first issue is available to read now, with new chapters releasing every other Friday, per Marvel.

“For his entire life Thor has only known one brother, Loki. Known to all as conniving, sneaky, and cunning! But a new Loki is ready to take his place. He may be smaller, he may be cuter, and… an alligator?! But don’t be deceived, Alligator Loki is just as wily as his human counterpart, and he is ready to cause trouble,” according to the comic series’ blurb.

The first issue of the series, aptly titled “Family Bonding,” sees Alligator Loki sprawl around an Asgardian amusement park with Thor as they attempt to get to know one another. Images from the opening chapter show Thor carrying the reptilian God of Mischief in a wrap sling while exploring all that the park has to offer, including its various ride and snack options.

Alligator Loki made his MCU debut in the Disney+ Loki series last year, popping up briefly in Episode 4’s “The Nexus Event,” before making his full appearance in Episode 5, “Journey Into Mystery.” That episode also had plans for a bigger cameo for an unexpected character that now only exists as an easter egg, but who knows what might happen in future episodes.

Loki Season 2 was announced during a mid-credits scene last season, which featured a close-up of TVA paperwork, including a file stamped with the words “Loki will return for Season 2.” It was the first of Marvel’s Disney+ series to announce a second season, with WandaVision unlikely to return, but The Falcon and the Winter Soldier billed as an ongoing series.

While there’s no release date for Loki Season 2 yet, it may be that there’s a lot of other Marvel shows to come first – Disney+ already has Ms. Marvel, Secret Invasion, and more on its slate.
